Our Little British Triumph Spitfire!

Well the Empty Nester's are pulling out toys we haven't seen or used in years. This of course is one of our favorites! We bought this together while dating.....kind of knew the relationship was going to be a lasting one. We bought this in 1979-80 we really can't remember when, but Joe was just finishing Law School and I was in Nursing School....thought no one would give us a loan but my Credit Union did. We scraped the $58.00 payments each month together and talked the woman who needed to get rid of it down to $1200.00! It was only 7 years old! It only has about 45000 actual miles on it. We had a new paint job prior to storing it. Following our recent bath and wax job, we think it looks pretty darn good. Valued at $5,000.00 now due to it's classic status.....glad we kept it!

Chip off the 'ol Block!

Mac baked these pies on Sunday.....I am so proud of how she is working on developing her culinary skills even while she studies. I guess she has paid me some attention in the kitchen in her formative years......I used to cut her school sandwiches just like those star cut outs.....can't have the crusts on sandwiches until you come to appreciate them with age! Love you Mac.....MOM

I am so excited about the coming days! Now that we are 95% done with the bathroom remodel, the new sprinkler system is in, the tomatoes are growing big and fat, the pumpkins are the size of cantaloupes and continue to grow each day, our last wedding of the season is this evening on 8/8/08 at 8:08pm, the parents are home safe from Denver, and every one is getting ready for back to school(not us, Mac is self sufficient when it comes to this)......it is time for just some summer laziness, movies, flower work, sweeeet corn (every night, last night Trinity, tonight Optimum) watermelon, and yes baking! If you want my recipe for the fruit cobbler just let me know. Mac is doing great, bike riding, resting, picnicking and preparing for her Senior year. She has done a lot of cooking lately with her friend Stephen and I enjoy hearing about their adventures in the kitchen....yes we still talk every night and I love it! Thanks Stephen for sharing her with me. James just helped Flying Pie celebrate 30 years in business. They closed the shops for the day and had a picnic for the crew. They also showed "The Wizard of Oz" at the Egyptian Theatre to start off the Celebration. If you are interested in learning more about the Flying Pie check out this link. http://www.flyingpie.com/ James also traveled to Bellingham to witness his friend Eamonn's parents renew their vows and attend mass with them the following day. I think I am now starting to understand what they mean in the books about the lazy days of summer in August......trust me I am going to enjoy them. Until later......
